Joe Brausam

Joe Brausam is a graduate of The College of New Jersey and holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education.  His primary instrument is the french horn although he is also proficient in all other major brass instruments.  He studied under horn player Kathy Mehrtens at The College of New Jersey and also studied at Towson University under Joy Brannigan.

Joe teaches privately, as well as in the New Jersey public education system.  He currently serves as the interim vocal music teacher at Lacey Township Middle School as well as holds an assistant marching band director position and is the director of the brass ensemble at Allentown High School in Allentown, New Jersey.

Joe has also performed in a variety of concerts and musicals at both the school level and community level, notably:

  • The College of New Jersey Orchestra and Wind Ensemble
  • Greater Princeton Youth Orchestra
  • Blawenburg Band
  • Garden State Philharmonic
  • Phoenix Productions at the Count Basie Theater (Rogers and Hammerstein's "The King and I")
  • Spring Lake Community Theater ("The Secret Garden")
  • Musical productions at Allentown High School, Central Regional High School, Pond Road Middle School, Hillsborough High School, Rancocas Valley High School, and other schools


Joe also has experience in arranging and transcribing music for various ensembles such as solo instruments, concert bands, brass ensembles, woodwind quintets, and flute ensembles.
Joe will teach private lessons in your home for:
  • French horn, all levels
  • Trombone and Baritone, beginner and intermediate students
  • Trumpet, beginner students
  • Music theory, through college level material
